Acculogic Introduces Flying Scorpion FLS900Dx

New High Performance Flying Probe Test system
Las Vegas, Nevada, March 31, 2008 – Acculogic’s Manufacturing Test Systems Division, a global leader in electronics test and production solutions, unveiled the Flying Scorpion FLS900Dx Flying Probe Tester at the APEX tradeshow today. The FLS900 adds new formidable capabilities to the already powerful Scorpion Flying Probe Tester. In addition to no-compromise double sided test capability, variable angle probe modules, and up to 24 probe modules in a single machine, the FLS900 offers ScanProbe™ and AccuFast™ drives as standard features. Acculogic’s president, Saeed Taheri said “We believe ScanProbe and full integration of boundary scan together with increased accuracy, dynamic response, and reliability, provided by AccuFast technology will enable the Flying Scorpion to migrate more customers from in-circuit test to Flying Probers in the next two years”. He added, “with boundary scan power fully unleashed, test coverage can be maintained at levels comparable to what is achieved on in-circuit testers and test cycle times will be held to acceptable levels for low volume production.

Acculogic Introduces support for IEEE1149.6 standard

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
APEX Las Vegas Nevada March 2008

Acculogic Manufacturing Test Systems Division, a global leader in electronics testing and production solutions, announced today at the APEX Las Vegas trade show, the immediate availability of it’s latest release of ScanNavigator software that offers full support for IEEE1149.6, an extension to IEEE1149.1 standard. ScanNavigator software is a leading suite of powerful tools for boundary-scan testing and programming based on the original JTAG standard, IEEE 1149.1. Now ScanNavigator has been extended to support the latest boundary-scan technology for the testing of high-speed buses and interfaces such as LVDS, Fiber Channel, Gigabit Ethernet and more.

Neither IEEE Standard 1149.1 nor IEEE Standard 1149.4 provides an effective and simple testing protocol with adequate fault coverage for high-speed serial communication interconnects. A few successful techniques have been developed for testing these applications; however, they can only be used in particular cases.

The IEEE Standard 1149.6 has been developed to allow testing high-speed AC coupled interconnects on a PCB. This Standard is built on IEEE Standard 1149.1, using the same test access port interface of four (or five) pins, the TAP controller, and a boundary scan register.

Advanced Boundary Scan on Acculogic’s Flying Scorpion

Flying probe testers require no test fixtures, have few restrictions on board access, and can test boards with virtually unlimited number of nets. Combination of Flying Probe and Boundary Scan (IEEE1149.1 and IEEE 1149.6) goes a long way to addressing limited access circuit board assemblies. Acculogic’s New Automated Virtual Nail (AVN) combined with the Multi-function Flying Nails (MFN) of the Flying Scorpion totally eliminates access barrier of In-Circuit testing. Acculogic’s ScanNavigator™ and Integrator™ software extends the capabilities of the Boundary Scan by automatically testing non-boundary scan devices through single or multiple chained Boundary Scan devices using (Automated Virtual Nails) and Multi-function Flying Nails. Test generation process is automated with pin point diagnostic accuracy. ScanNavigator’s powerful debug tools further reduces the time and cost of test development, so you can get tests up fast and cover hard to reach devices with minimum effort.

Acculogic’s Boundary Scan on the Flying Scorpion expands the Flying Probe testing to digital devices, in-system device programming, cluster testing, drastically reduces the test time and provides automated pass/fail test along with pin-level diagnostics. Acculogic’s Access Analyzer software using net list data and BSDL models guides you through the development of the most optimized test strategy for fault coverage and throughput.

Acculogic Introduces the Enhanced Measurement Unit (EMU) for the Sprint4510 Series of Flying Probe Test System

Acculogic Manufacturing Test Systems Division, a global leader in electronics testing and production solutions is pleased to announce an exciting new development in analog stimulus and measurement for the Sprint 4510 Flying Prober that dramatically reduces test times, improves measurement resolution, simplifies maintenance and provides for in-system calibration.

Since taking over design and support of the 1004 Javelin Flying Probe Test System and re-branding it as the Sprint4510, Acculogic has made significant hardware and software enhancements in response to feed back from new and existing customers. The result is a series of productivity tools that will revitalize older Javelin systems in the field and provide important competitive advantages for new system.

Demand for increasing throughput at production test has become one of the top criterions for system selection. The new Enhanced Measurement System (including SpeedPlus) reduces overall analog test times by up to 45%.

The new Enhanced Measurement System improves system reliability and simplifies maintenance. In addition, the Enhanced Measurement Unit can be calibrated in-system thus ensuring greater system uptime and reduced cost.

Enhanced Measurement Unit modules are available now and can be used in any Sprint 4510 Flying Prober system running Windows 2000 or XP. All test programs developed under earlier versions of the Sprint 4510 are fully compatible with the Turbo upgrade. Existing Teradyne Javelin systems running Windows NT can be readily upgraded to take full advantage of this new, improved analog measurement system.

Acculogic Announces the latest Release Of Integrator™ Tester Control Software

Acculogic’s Manufacturing Test Systems Division, a global leader in electronics testing and production solutions, announced its latest version of tester control software, Integrator.

Integrator 4.2 aims to maximize the performance of your tester through full integration of boundary scan test and full support for ScanProbe™ Technology, tighter hardware control, improved software analysis features, greater test flexibility, and new enhancements all contributing to shorter test cycles. Integrator 4.2 is also designated to support the new AccuFast™ Drives which will be available in the next generation of Flying Scorpion Testers.

About Integrator™ Version 4.2

The ScanProbe™ Technology adds a new dimension to test on Acculogic’s flying probes. Boundary scan has been combined with in-circuit bed-of-nails testers by others in the past to extend test coverage beyond basic boundary scan devices. Combining boundary scan and flying probe test within a single flying probe platform now offers a set of potent tools for testing combinations of devices that are not testable successfully by either technique on its own.

By combining flying probe test with boundary scan, the following objectives will be achieved:

  • Superb test coverage on passive and discrete devices
  • Superb test coverage on large digital components
  • Efficient shorts testing
  • Shorter test cycle times and higher through put
  • Combined Boundary Scan and Flying Probe test extends test coverage to non-boundary scan devices and improves overall test time
  • On-board device programming
  • Fully integrated, easy and quick boundary scan program development

Benefiting from strong market and technology footholds in both Boundary Scan and Flying Probe test markets, Acculogic has tightly integrated boundary scan operation with flying probe testing.

In addition Integrator 4.2 provides

  • Support for external programmable power supplies
  • A dedicated test template for testing leakage in large capacitors
  • An enhanced coverage report generator, an automatic filter
  • An interactive template for executing tests on a multitude of components calling one or more scripts
  • Enhanced debugging process for panelized products
  • An enhanced global search and replace functionality
  • Improvements to the user interface in organization of vectorless test sequences.
