Design for Testability (DFT) Services
DFT is a key focus area for most designers today since it can accelerate
time to market and time to volume; it can also reduce manufacturing
cost by lowering the defect escapes. DFT process is to verify the
PCB designs against a set of rules, and identifying the non-conformances.
Acculogic DFT expert will work with your design engineers concurrently
to predict fault spectrum, plan test strategies, suggest fault coverage
and test access trade-offs prior to layout and routing of PCB. The
DFT analysis will consider different test methodologies such as
Boundary Scan, Vectorless Test (Opens Xpress and/or Junctions Xpress),
and Cluster test in selecting the most effective access point (test
pads) in situations where access is very limited.
- Automated review of the CAD data files for mechanical and access
considerations – generates
- Test probe reports
- Test access reports
- Mechanical analysis for test fixture fabrication
- List of recommendations
- Review and DFT audit of the target schematics
- DFT recommendation (design changes) to improve coverage
and test stability
- Review of customer Test Specification
- Development test strategy to meet the specifications
CAD Translation Services
Acculogic CAD expert will quickly and accurately process your data
file output by most commercial CAD systems and generate the information
necessary to generate and build SPECTRUM 8800 program and fixture.
In time critical situations this can be done in the same day.
Library Development Services
Acculogic Library Expert will develop a library model for device
(s) not in the standard Teradyne SPECTRUM 8800 library with maximum
pin-level coverage.
- Library development using ICT tools
- BSDL validation
- Boundary Scan development for test
- On-board device programming (Flash , EEPROM and ISP)
- Pattern Generation for PAL, PLD, CPLD and FPGAs
Standard Program Development
The Standard programs are cost effective and offer a fast turn-around.
This service is most suitable for customers with standard technologies
or limited time and budget. The Standard programs can be upgraded
to an Advance level at a later date if required.
- CAD translation to generate board and board xy files
- Shorts and Opens test
- Analog discrete component test
- Standard digital library tests
- DeltaScan and FrameScan test for devices not in the library
- Generate program
- Fixture design, fabrication and debug
- StatManager Fault Coverage Reporting (device, pin and test type)
- Program and Fixture Documentation
Advanced test programs
The Advanced programs are designed for complex boards and for customers
that require the maximum fault coverage possible at the ICT stage.
The Advanced programs include steps listed in the Standard Programs
as well as the following steps if applicable:
- Advanced Boundary Scan
- Parallel Access Template Development for device programming
- Test Vector and grey code development
- Digital Cluster Tests
- Vectorless Test
- LED color and intensity check
- Combination of In-Circuit & Functional Test
Combination of in-circuit & functional
test programs
Recognizing that most products will require some form of functional
test before shipment to customers, a more logical approach would
to be to combine when possible In-Circuit Testing (ICT) and Functional
Testing (FBT) into a single stage. Combination of functional test
with ICT can also be used to achieve higher fault coverage that
may not be possible with ICT only test strategy. Single stage test
strategy using a single test fixture can save test-time and capital
expenditure, and reduces the potential for errors and damage caused
by excessive board handling.
Single Stage Test Strategies:
The In-Circuit Test systems are basically designed to detect manufacturing
process faults quickly and accurately and often lack the necessary
capabilities for functional testing. Acculogic Test Engineering
Group can expand the ICT system capabilities by integrating off-the-shelf
test and measurements instruments (GPIB, VXI or PXI) as well as
adding the necessary electronics into the fixture to make functional
test possible. Once the scope of the functional testing is defined;
either by the customer’s “Statement of Work” or
the Acculogic engineers, then the necessary instruments are selected;
integrated with the target system or in the test fixture, test fixture
is designed and built, and test programs are developed and fully
debugged integrated with the ICT system software before they are
installed at the customer site.
In-Circuit and Functional Solutions:
- In-Fixture Electronics For specific measurement, isolation
or signal conditioning.
- GPIB (IEEE488) Instruments.
- VXI or PXI instrument chassis to be integrated with the target
ICT system.
- Custom Electronics – designed by Acculogic meet specific
application requirements.
On-Site Installation
Our Support engineers are available to come to your factory (or
your Contract Manufacturer’s site) anywhere in the world to
install the test system or the test program and the fixture. Once
the test hardware and software has been installed our support engineer
will train the local engineers and operators on the use and support
of the delivered product.
Acculogic can support your test system or programs remotely through
Internet, telephone, and web conferencing. All of our products include
complete documentation.
